Show Dem Camp, the popular Lagos-based indie hip-hop duo made up of rappers Tec (Wale Davies) and Ghost (Olumide Ayeni), has released their latest single, “Italawa.”
The song is an excellent blend of rap, soul, and diverse African music aspects, combining traditional highlife and Palmwine music with modern hip-hop sensibilities.
“Italawa” appears as track 12 on their highly anticipated 17-track album Afrika Magik, which was released on November 3, 2025.
Spax Classic produces the single, as does much of SDC’s work, and his sound engineering wonderfully matches the duo’s contemplative and culturally rich lyrical content.
Finally, the tune exemplifies SDC’s distinct place in the African music landscape as “custodians of culture,” as they continually push the boundaries of the Afrobeats and alternative rap genres.
